Fishing in the Heber Area
The Provo River offers consistently good fly fishing as it cuts through Heber Valley and drops down Provo Canyon. It is perhaps the best blue-ribbon trout stream in the US that is so close to a major metropolitan area, and to a major airport.
Strawberry Reservoir, along Hyw 40 SE of Heber, is Utah's most popular fishery and it is usually very good for big trout. Also nearby, Deer Creek and Jordanelle reservoirs offer very good trout fishing.
The Uinta Mountains brush the sky to the east of Heber and they offer unlimited opportunity to fish in small lakes and streams.
